The Broadsword League
Broadsword, Backsword, Heavy Sabre and Singlestick

Ranking System

Competitive rankings in the Broadsword League are intended to give fencers a goal to strive for in order to encourage them to become the best fencers they can be. The ranking system is a means to this end; it is not intended to be an end in itself.

The ten ranks listed below should enable fencers to gauge the relative Broadsword League experience of a potential opponent, beginning with the lowest rank of 10 and progressing to the highest possible rank, which is 1, representing a first-rate broadsword fencer.

The Broadsword League will maintain a list of the current ratings of every fencer. The format will be as follows: (points earned year to date/ year to date average/ lifetime points earned/ lifetime average/ Broadsword League rank).
