Instructors of the
Broadsword Academy

The following members of the Cateran Society Broadsword Academy are qualified to teach our curriculum at the level indicated:

Christopher Scott Thompson is the president of the Cateran Society and head instructor of the Broadsword Academy. He holds the rank of Provost in the Cateran Society, earned in a public Prize Playing at the Cumann Bhata Recreational Violence Weekend in 2005, with Paul Wagner presiding.

Matt Park is an Usher (assistant instructor) of the Cateran Society Broadsword Academy, certified to teach Levels I-IV of our curriculum, including the Regimental Highland Broadsword, Old-Style Highland Broadsword, Sword and Targe and Quick Draw.

Melian Young is an Usher (assistant instructor) of the Cateran Society Broadsword Academy, certified to teach Level I of our curriculum, the Regimental Highland Broadsword.

Justin Kirck is an Usher (assistant instructor) of the Cateran Society Broadsword Academy, certified to teach Level I of our curriculum, the Regimental Highland Broadsword. He currently maintains his own Taigh Suntais or study group in Long Island, NY. He holds the rank of Free Scholar in the Cateran Society, earned in a public Prize Playing in December, 2005, with Christopher Scott Thompson presiding.

James Black is an Usher (assistant instructor) of the Cateran Society Broadsword Academy, certified to teach Level I of our curriculum, the Regimental Highland Broadsword.
